Not all lawns are created equal
There are many things to consider when choosing and installing turf. If you have patchy grass (or no grass at all) you’re not alone.
We come across many lawns that need to be remediated. Fortunately, when done right, a beautiful lawn is possible year round that withstands Australia’s toughest conditions.
Irrigation Systems
With dry conditions seeming to be the norm these days, keeping your lawn hydrated can be a challenge. And when water restrictions are in place, it just gets that much harder. The good news is even under NSW level 2 water restrictions, you are permitted to water your lawns and gardens for 15 minutes per day (before 10am or after 4pm). Coupled with a timer, this short daily watering is more than adequate to keep your lawn looking great even in drought conditions.
Synthetic Turf
The term ‘fake grass’ doesn’t describe the types of synthetic grass available these days. It’s durable, won’t fade in the sun and will last for many years to come.
If you have a small area that doesn’t justify a lawnmower, synthetic grass is a great option. Or in between square pavers for the ‘chess board’ finish without all that edging to do. If zero maintenance is important, talk to Mark about going synthetic.
Does the area receive enough sunlight?
If you have an area with over 70% shade, no true grass will work. Go instead for mulch, pavers and select ground covers.
Pictured here is a fine leaf lily turf called ‘Isabella’. This particular ground cover looks great as pictured or once mowed looks like turf. It also only needs mowing once a year.
